TD Bank Financial Literacy Workshop

Logo Default

The Grade 8’s had a financial literacy workshop.

Some of the topics included:

  • Discussion on how to budget their money using real world scenarios.
  • Dissecting pay stubs to get a better understanding of income tax and how the income tax differs from low income to high income individuals.
  • Learning interview skills and going through role-play scenarios to help practice proper interview etiquette.

At UC we are dedicated to our students becoming financially literate, with work related to the subject starting in grade 1 and running through to graduation. As part of our math programme, our students will be confident in their knowledge of real-world issues and problems, as well as managing their own finances.
