CHARACTER EDUCATION THEMES - INTEGRITY & ACCEPTANCE OF SELF & OTHERS

Character Education

Teaching Character Education to our students is of the utmost priority and is our job as educators. In partnership with parents, it is our duty to ensure that every child develops to be the best version of themselves. Our themes for our Character Education programme that were studied last year were Responsibility and Compassion. As we studied these traits, students were learning to accept the things that they have control of and to take ownership over their choices and their actions. They learned how to listen intently to others and how to be a kind friend, while showing compassion to others. We wanted to deepen students’ perspectives and their feelings about others.

This year’s themes will be Integrity and Acceptance of Self & Others. Teachers will nominate students on a monthly basis who actively embrace and demonstrate these important traits. Guided lessons through homeroom and rotary classes, daily inspirational messaging during announcements, and spirit days will convey these themes. UC Stands for KINDNESS!
