Partnership with Parents
Parental involvement is one of the reasons why independent schools are better and more preferred by parents. At UC we believe that strong parent-teacher and parent-school communication makes us unique. The feedback and input parents provide can be invaluable towards improving the UC experience. Parents can help their children by providing an appropriate environment for homework completion, getting involved in special projects, volunteering on school trips, participating in special events, and communicating regularly with the teacher.
In addition to the ongoing dialogue between teachers and parents, student progress is officially communicated to parents frequently. Report cards are provided two to three times per year in either Casa, Elementary and Secondary programmes. Both written reports and personal interviews are used to keep parents informed of their child’s progress throughout the school year.
Parents can also contribute by joining our active Parent Council. This council hosts various events in and around the school and raises money for special events and programmes for students. A vibrant Parent Council plays a valued role by providing input, guidance, and consultation. This parent group, representative of all families, contributes an important viewpoint that helps to enhance our current approach while helping to guide our future directions.
